But I do know that there are women who find emotional connections to other women as akward and some men who find emotional connections a necessity. So I just think it's how you're raised, your mental capacity, and your need for or lack thereof in emotional connections. In reading some Bible stories, I think Jesus was one of those emotional men that enjoyed the "communication", "love", and "admiration" of others, male and female alike.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13553123604758674690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011967497565662223.post-1002187674888850412009-12-22T11:23:03.808-07:002009-12-22T11:23:03.808-07:00I agree with Abe though I had to laugh outloud wit...I agree with Abe though I had to laugh outloud with the initial gay bar comment.Kimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353058677893508208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011967497565662223.post-46552268695884070512009-12-21T23:04:06.779-07:002009-12-21T23:04:06.779-07:00My husband says no. But I don't know if there's a huge difference of need there. My husband gets a lot out of his relationships with coworkers and friends.HappyOrganisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12335633639616473197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011967497565662223.post-89687528579227829782009-12-21T16:54:39.045-07:002009-12-21T16:54:39.045-07:00I agree that women, in general, have a more innate...I agree that women, in general, have a more innate need to socialize with other women than men do with other men. I believe the LDS church recognizes this as well - which is why we have Relief Society activities but no corresponding bonding activities for the men.

That said - I think gay men share this female trait of needing more socialization. I believe that, in general, gay men have an innate need to be around and hang out with other men. Unfortunately, our options are severely limited. We certainly don't have anything at church - especially for the married men. I think this is why gay bars are so popular - it's one of the few places where gay men can go to rub elbows with other gay men. Unfortunately, gay bars are not the most wholesome of environments as it is also a place where gay men go to hook up with other gay men.

Just my $0.02Abelard Enigmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13166049686152203530noreply@blogger.com
